Even more of a reason to cheer for Team USA: free chocolate. (Not that you needed one: GO USA! GO USA!)

Every time Team USA wins a gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, fans will get free Hershey’s Gold bars.

Don’t know what a Hershey’s Gold bar is? Don’t worry. I didn’t either. It happens to be the fourth flavor in Hershey’s candy bar history, launched late last year. It’s billed as a caramelized creme candy bar with a mix of pretzels and peanuts.

The giveaway begins Feb. 9 — the day the 2018 Winter Games start — and runs through March 18.

When a glorious gold is ours, Hershey’s will post a link for a $1.50 coupon offer on its Twitter and Facebook pages. At least the first 10,000 participants who click the link will receive the coupon.

Team USA won nine gold medals at each of the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. My sweet tooth sure likes those numbers.

There’s no purchase necessary, but the offer is first come, first served while supplies last. Check out the official rules.

Guess I’m on the bandwagon now, because I can’t wait to “Taste the Gold.”
